The Struggles of Teaching 3rd Grade Online.

Anna Meredith is a third-grade teacher in Lansing Michigan. This has been her first year teaching her own classes and has presented her with many challenges as a young teacher. Teaching and interacting with third graders during online lessons can be challenging since many of them have a hard time paying attention or getting one on one time with Meredith. She has used some aspects of the online format to attempt to give her students a more normal experience, like live-streaming a class pet, Fluffy, a gerbil, some mornings so the students can still have a class pet.

Meredith has also had problems adjusting to online teaching since her classroom has taken over her kitchen table, making a work life balance hard. She also mentioned that she is the youngest teacher at her school, with her youngest co-worker being in their 50’s, which means she has become the go to person for technical issues among her coworkers while classes are online.
