Justice By Objectives

Channae Haller talks with people released from the Utah State Correctional Facility on release day at the Utah State Correctional Facility in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. As one of the first people to talk with former inmates on release day, Haller takes down what they may need in the coming days, regular clothes, business or work clothes, food, hygiene products and any other needs. After taking down a list of their immediate needs, Haller tells them about the wide range of resources Justice By Objectives can offer them, from rides to job interviews, peer support, classes, meeting with social workers and therapists, or just simply someone to talk with about the struggles of reentry.

Channae Haller steps into the hallway while providing support for a client at their court case, holds her hand to her lips and listens to a phone call regarding her own pending lawsuit looking to clear her name from what she sees as a wrongfully incarceration where she was held for at least two months in jail, at the Scott M. Matheson Courthouse in Salt Lake City on Monday, April 7, 2025. Haller was motivated to start Justice By Objectives after her own experience struggling with the justice system.

Channae Haller looks on with pride as her intern Lily introduces herself and details the services Justice By Objectives provides at a networking event for Salt Lake City non-profits, at the Hampton Inn in West Jordan, on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Adrian Gordon, left, asks Channae Haller, right, a question while taking a course to become a certified peer support specialist, at the Justice By Objectives office in Murray on Monday, April 14, 2025. Gordon, like Haller, has had his life irreversibly changed by what he says is a wrongful conviction for which he spent 20 years in jail. He now works with Haller to help provide resources to people recently released from prison.

Caezar E. Warren walks and talks about his struggles with Channae Haller during a hike in Memory Grove Park on March 24, 2025. Warren and Haller often meet up for walks to help Warren talk about his struggles with the justice system and his mental health. Although Haller provides many resources for her clients, one of the most impactful resources she can provides them with is her time. She will often spend hours every week just talking, spending time and doing activities with her clients.

Channae Haller, left, laughs with her daughter Kira while fixing her a plate at Easter dinner at Channae’s mother’s home in Logan on Sunday, April 20, 2024. While Haller helps others with their reentry from prison, court cases and the struggles of changing their lives after being involved with the justice system, she is also working on rebuilding her own life, navigating the challenges of not having full custody of her children following her involvement with the justice system.
